The actions of the Idylle are divided into four interdisciplinary mandates: the production, creation and dissemination of exhibitions and performative works; the creation of in-situ performances in public spaces and in nature; the realization of international residencies; and the holding of environmental initiatives such as river bank clean-ups or cultural mediation workshops inviting a decompartmentalization of disciplines and an ecological sensitivity.
L'Idylle's mission is to unite artists through collaborative freedom and to create hybrid, inclusive and festive experiences in symbiosis with the community. The organization's activities include the production or co-production of films, plays and web series, as well as the deployment of exhibitions, performances, installations and video and multimedia content projects, all kinds of recordings, editing, coloring, video projection and mapping.

The L'Idylle team values that it operates on the banks of the St. Lawrence River / Kaniatarowanénhne / Magtogoek and the Rivière-des-Prairies / Skawanoti / Pamskodategw, on unceded Indigenous territory and recognizes the Kanien'kehá:ka Nation as the guardians of the lands and waters on which it gathers. Named Tiohtià:ke by the Kanien'kehá:ka Nation and Mooniyang by the Anishinaabe Nation, the archipelago on which we gather is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations, and today, a diverse Indigenous population, as well as other peoples, reside there. It is in respect of the connections with the past, present and future that L'Idylle recognizes the ongoing relationships between Indigenous peoples and other peoples of the Montreal community.
